Looking for a unique outdoor adventure? Something off of the beaten path with access to views and opportunities like never before? TPWF partner, Explore Ranches may have just what you’re looking for.

Explore Ranches, an Austin-based company, launched a new vacation rental site offering exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime stays at private ranches in Texas and Colorado.

About 95% percent of Texas’ land under private ownership, Explore Ranches aims to open the door to experiences that allow unrestricted access for travelers to pristine swaths of nature and true solitude. Guests can visit beautiful and picturesque ranches that have, until now, been completely inaccessible to the public.

The company offers everything from accommodation-only trips to fully staffed trips that include guides, cooks and activities like hiking, biking, paddling, fishing and other non-consumptive activities on the nation’s most wild and scenic ranches.

Explore Ranches was founded by Allison Ryan, Jesse Womack and Jay Kleberg, all multi-generational Texas landowners. The company’s mission is to allow more access to the wild while also understanding and respecting landowners’ significant responsibility to protect natural resources that have been conserved for generations.

Tom Vandivier, owner and operator of Llano Springs Ranch on the South Llano River and one of Explore Ranches’ landowner partners says, “Explore Ranches has created a way for folks to have the rare opportunity to enjoy ranches around Texas and elsewhere. For people to have access to this sort of outdoor experience is truly unique. We are proud to be a part of this and look forward to sharing our property.”

Explore Ranches looks forward to sharing the best of Texas and beyond in hopes that guests find their own place in the wild. And, if you join Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation before March 8, you’ll be entered into a drawing to win a one-of-a-kind weekend at the headwaters of the South Llano River for a wild culinary retreat on April 26-28, 2019.* This extraordinary opportunity to experience the Texas Hill Country is provided by Explore Ranches.  Learn more about the contest rules and weekend itinerary here.
